What is the difference between Venetian Plaster and Microcement?
Venetian Plaster is lime-based, offering a decorative, marble-like finish best for feature walls. Microcement is a cement-polymer blend that is extremely durable and waterproof, making it perfect for floors and bathrooms.
Can Microcement be used in bathrooms and showers?
Yes. Microcement is water-resistant and seamless (no grout lines), making it an excellent, hygienic choice for wet areas like showers and splashbacks.
Can you apply these finishes over existing tiles?
Yes. In many cases, we can apply Microcement over existing tiles after proper preparation (priming and mesh reinforcement), saving you the cost and mess of demolition.
How do I maintain these surfaces?
They are low maintenance. Regular cleaning with mild, pH-neutral detergents is sufficient. Microcement is highly resistant to stains and scratches.
How long does the application take?
Due to the multiple layers and drying times required for a quality finish, projects typically take 3 to 7 days to complete.
Can I see a sample of the colour and texture?
Absolutely. We provide custom sample boards so you can see exactly how the finish looks under your home’s lighting before we begin.
